Payment & Purchase Options

There are many options for buying your new technology product.

Try and Buy

Do you need a Mac for class or work but don’t have the funds today? Do you want to try a Mac but aren’t sure you want one? If you answer yes to either of these questions then our Try and Buy Program may be for you.

This program allows Mason students, faculty, or staff to purchase select Apple computer bundles for use for one semester. At the end of the semester you can opt to buy the system or turn it in with no further obligation. The program does not require a credit check or other collateral. A valid student Mason ID and active class registration or Faculty/Staff ID are required along with a short contract. Mason reserves the right to limit the number of open contracts in any semester.

Try and Buy must be arranged in advance. Systems will be available for pickup at Patriot Tech during normal business hours at the start of the semester. The initial payment can be made by cash, Mason Money, or credit (Mastercard/Visa). Initial payment is required at the time of equipment pickup.

Try and Buy computers do not include additional software or accessories. These items are the responsibility of the user and not part of the Try and Buy Program. George Mason University has the right to monitor and track the laptops location for any reason at any time using any means at our disposal including LoJack if installed. Students have MS Office and Antivirus products for Mac available for free while active students.

For availability information, stop by our location or email us at patriottech@gmu.edu. Email inquires will generally receive an email response the same business day. Available systems choices and a sample contract can be viewed here.
